Watch 3D Model Requirements (VTO)

This document outlines the category-specific requirements for watch models used in the WANNA Virtual Try-On (VTO) experience.

All General 3D Model Requirements apply to watch models.
If your watch model is intended for 3D Viewer, refer instead to 3D Viewer Model Requirements, as 3D Viewer has unified requirements regardless of product category.

Main Requirements

Requirement Details
Max triangles in a scene 130,000
Max primitives in a scene 105
Max texture size 2048x2048
Total texture pixels in a scene 18,873,368 px
Archive file size (geometry + textures) ≤ 50 MB
Model scale True-to-size (1:1)
File format glTF (.gltf) or GLB (.glb) only
Positioning Refer to the Watch Positioning Guide

Modelling Recommendations

Materials & Textures

  • Watches often use materials such as metal and glass, which differ from footwear.
  • For standard watch glass, we recommend:
    • Albedo: grey, 30%
    • Opacity: 15%
    • Metallic: 1
    • Roughness: 0

Placement & Alignment

  • Use automatic positioning whenever possible, as it allows the same model to be used in both VTO and 3D Viewer.
  • If automatic positioning fails, follow the Manual Watch Positioning Guide to ensure correct alignment on the wrist.

Animation

  • For VTO the only supported animation is a dial hands animation.
  • This animation allows the watch to display the current time from the user’s device, with real-time movement of the second hand.
  • For setup instructions, refer to the dedicated article: Watch Dial Animation (Current Time).

Sizing

WANNA offers a Wrist Measurement Tool that enables accurate sizing for watches during Virtual Try-On. This functionality is part of WANNA’s proprietary know-how, and models intended for use with the tool can be created only by WANNA’s internal modelling team. External model production for this feature is not supported.
